Kitchen aid microwave,
Clock works,Exhaust fan works, Lights work. When you enter a cook time and press start, there is a soft audible click, the timer starts counting down, but the motor and fan do not run

Any help with this

DJ,

Does everything else work ?

The unit does heat / cook the food ?

Only the turntable and cooling fan don't run ?

If that's the case,

I would have to suspect,

A loose or broken pink wire at the control board,

Or a bad control board, (bad relay circuit).

Good Luck,

Happy Holidays,

No, the unit does not cook or heat, once that soft audible click is heard the timer starts counting down as if it were cooking all the way down to the finished beeper, but that's it.

DJ,

Well, you've got one of two problems, at this point,

A bad door switch or a bad control board.

You'll need a multi meter to test the door switch circuits.

There are three switches to test "

Primary door switch,
(located as the bottom switch of the switch assembly)

You can test that switch at the CN2 connector on the control board,
Unplug the connector and check for a circuit between the Blue and Pink wires, With the door closed, should be a closed circuit, reverses when door is open(open circuit).

Secondary switch,
(located as top switch of the switch assembly,
Remove wires from switch(dbl White and White and Red wires)
With the door closed, should be a closed circuit on the switch terminals, and reverses when door is open.

Monitor switch,
(located as the outside switch on the dual switch in the center mounting area of the switch assembly)
Remove wies from switch(White and Red and Brown wires)
With the door closed there should be an open circuit across the terminals on the switch, and reverses if the door opens.

*** Of coarse you've already unplugged the power cord, and waited 5 minutes before checking the circuits, so you don't get hurt ***

If the door switch circuits are correct, you'll need the control board.

Our parts department has that control board listed as a Discontinued Part from the Manufacturer.

The MFG number is,
4359609

You may want to shop around, or contact the manufacturer for a replacement
part, should you decide to repair your machine.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)
