Do all refrigerators have a water filter? Our water dispenser no longer works on our side by side Kenmore Coldspot , model #106.57575790. I am hearing that the problem may be a clogged water filter, but we cannot even find the water filter on the refrigerator!

By looking at your model breakdown your unit does not have a water filter. Does your icemaker still get water?

The same thing was happening to me and i found the fix at this site http://www.fixya.com/support/t1...r_slow_flow_after_filter

I took a plastic bowl the I got Hillshire farm sliced turkey in and cut a washer to fit. I used a socket the right size to cut the center hole by putting it on a piece of steel and hitting it with a hammer then cut around the out side to make a washer about 3/16"wide. Slipped it over the O-rings in the adaptor in the fridge and put the filter back in and it worked like a charm. Apparently the after market filters from HD and Lowes have a slightly smaller little nub on the interface to the adapter. Hope it works for you.

Well, it's been about a week now since we changed out the filter and once again, the water flow through the dispenser has come to a stop. I'd hate to have to invest another $40 in a filter so soon. Could there be some other problem?

Thx

The water from the dispenser comes out very slowly. I noticed this couple of months ago. Changed the filter with a new GE OEM filter from Home Depot but no improvement. Checked the water coming to the fridge. It has full water pressure. When I take the filter out and put in the adapter plug, the flow rate gets slightly better, but still slow. For first half a second water comes out fast, but then it slows down. Checked the shield and It is tight. No water leaks found under the fridge.

Please help.

My water dispenser had been running very slowly with high pressure and no kinked line. (with the filter and with the bypass plug) I fixed it by removing the filter and cleaning the inside of the filter inlet port on the fridge with a small round metal pointed device. I could tell there was some deposit there as after cleaning it seemed smooth. Reinstalled the filter and it's fine now, fast flow.

I have a Kenmore side-by-side #106.595 13 year old fridg and we have a reverse osmosis water system. Can this be causing any problems with the fridge? I had slow flow water dispenser and replaced the valve inlet. Now, I notice a small/few drops coming from the connectors on the water filter housing unit. Guess it's time to replace the housing unit?? Please let me know. tim.rodewald@gmail.com

try taking apart the connectors and applying some clean new teflon tape to the threads in a clockwise wrap.
