Scott,

Please varify the model number,

I can't get any technical or parts data for the model number you supplied.

But,

Based on your information ,

The shifter arm on the ice bin, may not be inside the solenoid bail.

You may have a bad "cube" solenoid.

And possibly a bad select switch / boardin the front of the dispenser assembly.

We'll be able to direct you better once we get a good model number.

Thanks,
:) :) :)

Scott,

I had to use the closest model number I could find, (GC5THGLS00).

But, it's still a basic WP dispenser assembly.

Do you have access to a multi meter ?

You may have to check, circuits and voltages.

Try this :
Remove the ice bin from the freezer,
Tape the door light switch down, (so the light is off)

Select "cubed ice" and press the ice dispensr paddle,
You should be able to observe and hear the the shifter solenoid activate, and the auger motor run.

Select "crushed ice" and press the ice dispenser paddle,
You should be able to observe the shifter solenoid remain in the "relaxed" position and the auger motor run.

Were it me, I would start at the dispenser motor housing, remove the housing from the back wall(release the light switch, or unplug the machine)

With a meter, check for a closed circuit on the solenoid terminals, and condition of the solenoid and plunger assembly.

With the wires off the solenoid, attach the meter leads to the wire terminals, re connect the power, and press the dispenser paddle, see if you read 120 VAC on the wires, on the "cubed ice" selection.

If you have the voltage, you've got a bad solenoid, If not, we'll have to dismantle the door dispenser assembly and check the wiring and switch for a bad circuit.

Drop us a line, and we can go on from there,

:) :) :)
