My GE's Spacemaker Microwave / hood vent has never blown the exhaust up the tube to the outside.
What trick is there to switch from recirculating to exhaust ?
Thanks

I installed an LG that had a knock out in the back that would match up with a vent. If The knock out was left in place the microwave would simply cycle air through it's filter, if take out, it would vent through the duct leading to the outside.

As we had no ductwork/outside vent we left the knockout plate in place.
