The heating element does not shut off when the door is open. However, the element will stop heating if I manually turn the timer to the off position.

I checked the door switch and it checked ok. I suspect the switch down on the motor which has six terminal on it is faulty. Can someone confirm if this switch will cause this issue. Thanks for your help.

Yes that would also be my diagnosis.
The switch should kill power to the heater whenever the motor is not running.
Probably it's contacts are welded together.
