I have the exact same problem, but I lack the owner's manual, so I don't know how to remove the sprayer arms and other parts to inspect them for problems. Can anyone tell me how to get the manual? I would be very grateful.

I have found part of the problem. My local repair man suggested that I run 1/2 cup CLR through a complete cycle and then 2 more cycles of plain water. This was repeated one more time. The glasses still came out with a film on the next normal wash.

Today, I took a couple of glasses that I hand washed the film off, and decided to run a cycle with only 1 tsp of soap, and check after the wash and again during my rinse. My wash water was soapy, but the rinse water was also full of soap suds. The washer pumps the soapy water out after the wash, but when it fills back up for the rinse, it still has soap in it. I have run the "rinse only" multiple times, but every time it fills, it is soapy. Where is all the soap coming from? I am using Cascade liquid, and I only put in about 1 tsp for this test.

After the pump-out, the standing water is gone, but I can't tell if the strainer is completely empty because of a few standing soap bubbles, but the pump runs for quite a while, and ends up making "sucking" noise when it is done so I am sure it has pumped everything out.

I have a kitchenaid KUDP01FLSS0 that is not cleaning the top rack. I popped open the door and the middle spray arm is anemic, if it even turns at all. You can hear water dribbling inside instead of blasting as it used to be. I have had a repair man out twice. The first time, he chastised me for not cleaning my dishes and showed me gunk on the screen with the cutter. It worked a bit better, and then a week later, same problem. He came back out and the screen had all sorts of gunk - soft stuff, not like seeds or toothpicks. He cleaned it again and a week later, same think. Now, for 8 years, we had NO issues. Now, it clogs 3 times in 3 weeks and we are more conscience of rinsing first? Something else must be wrong. It is like there is not enough flow to wash out the screen during the cycle. Certainly, there is not enough recirc pressure.

Could this be a problem with the impeller? Pump motor? Why would the screen gum up 3 times in 3 weeks when it never happened before in 8 years? Any advice appreciated.

Does the chopper wear out? After daily cycles over 8 years? Does it get dull? Or the screen?

I bet there is something wrong with the impeller, because even after he cleaned the screen, the action still sounded weak. And if just a little food bit of particles are enough to reduce the flow to the point where the upper arm doesn't rotate, three times in three weeks, then there has to be something else going on. At least that is what I think. Not an appliance expert, but I am a mechanical engineer. I just don't know what could have changed so suddenly to make the machine almost useless.

Our water is not hard. I have used gallons of white vinigar with no results. I tried a "homemade" detergent based on washing soda, walmart detergent and citric acid with no results.

How much CLR should I use, and how many times?
The last time I ran two cans of "Dishwasher Magic" through and afterwards got ONE load of dishes clean and now am getting the soap scum back.
