When doing a load of laundry the machine beeps several times and displays the error code F 06. The motor is not hot and following the directions in the manual: Cancel and then Start causes the machine to add additional water and does not spin out any of the water in the tub. The machine beeps again, displays the same message and we are back where we started.

Is this a problem with the motor control? (solid state board) #AP3861856
Or is the tachometer the problem? Does the motor have to be changed?

Doug,

Very seldom, the F06 code is a bad motor.

If you have a meter, the winding resistance should be approximately 6 ohms resistance pin 1 to pin 2, pin 1 to pin 3 and pin 2 to pin 3.

Pin 4 to pin 5 should read approximately 250 ohms

As long as your motor windings test have the same resistance, and the tach circuit has 250 ohms, your motor is OK.

And you need to start looking for loose wires in the harness from the motor control board to the central control board, no loose wires would indicate a bad motor control board
