not sure of the age.
long story, but bottom line is my son has a double oven I'm trying to now fix which he had wired the plug wrong and plugged it in. Loud pop and smoke came out of oven, then left it pluged in for a couple min. He was told by the landlord the oven worked fine before (not that he REALLY knows for sure)
First, I do have power going to the oven. I have replaced the suppressor (which looked VERY burnt), then the microcomputer board. I have checked the Thermal fuse connected to the micro board and it is ok. Still no power on display......what should I try next?
I do have an ohmmeter, but been a while sense I have used (played) with it.

Here is the tech sheet http://www.servicematters.com/docs/wiring/Tech%20Sheet%20-%204451879.pdfWhen you say you have power to the unit did you check for the 240 and also the 120 on each leg. You need 120 volts from Neutral to L1 for the control board power transformer. Remove power from the unit and check the transformer windings for continuity. Remember to disconnect at least one side of each winding when checking just to be sure you do not read an alternate/parallel circuit path. I do not know what they should be other than they should not be an open. If both the primary and secondary have continuity you will have to do a live test. I would do this the first time with the control board disconnected. Tech sheet says the secondary should put out 20.3 volts approx. If OK check it again with the control board hooked up just to see if the control board is dropping it for some reason. |

Primary (two red wires) is open and the secondary (two small blue wires) is closed
Sounds like a need a power transformer?

replaced parts, oven now turns on.
some buttons work on key pad, some don't. I can't set the clock, upper and lower oven buttons don't work, cancel don't work. However I can turn oven on to broil, convection, stet time to start, and a few others.
I cleaned the connection ribbon, didn't help.....so I now need some help from you! :)
My GUESS is it needs a new touch pad, but you seem to be out of stock. If you think that is what I need, how soon can I get one?
