By looking at the microwave/toaster oven and the schematics - I still cannot determine how to access and change the interior light - and even if it is a safe thing to do. How do I access this bulb and is the correct part - as shown on this site - AP4051342?

Thank you.

Fred,

I checked and varified that the part number AP4051342 is the correct part for the incandescent light for this unit.

I have also included the lamp replacement procedure from the service manual.

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

The lamp is located on the damper assembly.
1. Disconnect power to unit and remove outer case, see
"Outer Case" procedure.
2. Remove screws securing lamp socket.
3. Reposition protective assembly to gain access of
lamp holders.
4. Gently pry lamp holders away from lamp.
5. Remove lamp.

6. Replace and reassemble in reverse order.

Thank you for the quick response. I really appreciate it - but I still need to plead ignorance. By "Outer Case" do you mean the black cover that covers the top and both sides. If so, that cover, like the sliver back covers, are attached with what appear to be special screws with a pin in the head. I assume these require a special tool? Is this the case? Are such tools readily available?

Thanks Again,
Fred

Fred,

Yes, you will need to remove the outer casing(cabinet).

And, if I remember correctly that is a #15 "security" torx screw.

You may want to purchase this tool, it will come in handy around the house, car, etc.
