Our top oven was in self cleaning mode when we had a power outage. After the power came back on, the control panel was unlit. We have checked the breaker and it is working fine. Also tested the "oven thermal shutdown fuse" on the back and it is OK.

Check the low voltage transformer behind the control panel (#5 on the break down diagram).

- The part number for the transformer is AP3968801

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool oven Model GBD277PDB7

Our GDB277PDB7 had a similar issue - but no power outage. It just beeped 3 times, then the panel died. Also 5 years old. A factory service technician came out and said the control panel needed to be replaced. Actually the ticket says "Sub CNTRL-EL". The part from them is more than 2x the price here, if I'm looking at the right one, and I'm sure I can do it myself. But... based on this post - thought maybe it's not the control panel at all. The transformer isn't too much $ to give a try first. But the "circuit board" part (AP3767567) and the "control panel assembly" (AP3131956) are pricier and I don't think I can return one if I try it and it doesn't fix the issue. I'm thinking circuit board, but just looking for a suggestion/confirmation on which I should try. Thanks!

Look for the part number on this ticket and post it here.

I guess they omit that on the estimate for that reason - no specific part number is listed - just that cryptic description "Sub CNTRL-EL". I'm thinking circuit board, since the control panel assembly seems to be more just "buttons" and display.
