The top element in my oven seems to have ceased working. When broiling food didn't brown so when I looked up to check the element was not getting red at all (I waited several minutes in case I just caught it on an 'off' time). Nothing.

Is replacing this top element something I can do myself (e.g. is it just a case of finding the correct part, pulling the old one out and plugging the new one in) or do I need to call a professional?

Thanks,

Very rare for the broil element to blow out, but pull the element out and look for a burnt wire to it.
