Your defrost timer is located in the control panel on the ceiling of the fresh food compartment.

Where is the clicking noise coming from, the control panel, back of machine, freezer compartment ?

It could very easily be a bad timer, but there are other possibilities.

The location of the noise could determine other things to check.
