The top agiator does not work - can turn it in both directions. Took the cap off and it appears that the dog ears that are suppose to engage are shot. for the 5+ dollars difference in price, should I go ahead and put a whole new agiator kit in it? Also, the model # is LSR 7233E but all the model numbers show letters behind the 4 models listed with E behind them. The part number shown for all is - AP3138838 . Is this the correct kit? To replace, do I unscrew the nut and pull the bottom agiator out? Someone has posted that there must be some type of lock-tite or something to keep the new nut from coming loose - is this required? Tks for the help, I appreciate it. - jb

It's better to order the agitator repair kit. You also have to order the grease if there is no old grease present. The installation instructions are attached to the reply. - The agitator repair kit Part number: AP3138838

Tks, Gene - I do appreciate it.
You did not mention the question about the nut that someone had posted about needing some type of lock-tite. Is this necessary? - jb

Tks, Gene - I do have one more question, if you would. What is the size of the nut that holds the adgitator on? It is larger than a 3/4 or a 19mm and I will need to purchase one to take it off - don't have all my tools down here and out of storage as yet. You can email me at - jbrown1000@gmail.com. Take care and I appreciate it. - jb

If you meant the agitator bolt (#2 on the diagram) then the size of its head is 7/16". Gene.

Yeah - I found that out - - Duh! :)
IT was dark when I was trying to take the bolt out and as I looked at it, with the rubber washer around it, the bolt head looked much larger. I tried to use a 3/4 inch socket and it did not fit over the bolt and the washer so thought it was larger.
Tks for the reply - have everything working just fine.
One comment, AP Pros needs to do something about their shipping cost - the plastic dog ears weigh almost nothing but when the shipping cost for both them and the complete kit is added the cost comes up to more than they can be purchased from a dealer - not a good deal. - jb

Understand, Adam - and if in the future I need more expensive parts I will certainly get them from you. But for small parts that weigh a couple of ounces, the shipping kills the savings.
Take care - jb
