The dryer won't stop running after the set time has expired nor will it stop on the "more dry" setting. Also, the dryer continues to run when the door has been opened.

It sounds like you dryer has created a new electrical pathway. Either in the wiring (Wires shorted together) or in the timer. Also your model no. is missing the last digit.

The model is lew0500pq3. Does the version of the model make that much difference?
