Just purchased this new microwave July 2nd, 2010 after 25.5 year old microwave finally gave up the ghost just suddenly.

This Countertop Kenmore is 1.2 cubic ft. with 1200 W power. It has all the sensory technology and auto features.

The problem we have is when we finish defrosting or cooking, or
reheating, sometimes by auto, sometimes by timer, the microwave
will shut off, light goes out. We remove the item, shut door. Then this microwave kicks back on. Hitting the clear/stop button does no good. Sometimes it happens if nothing is put back in it, or if other food is put in to cook. We have left door open for 2-4 minutes, then close the door, and it stays off. A minor inconvenience, but wondering if the heat generated inside is causing the problem. We have the required 4" of space for ventilation.

Any advice is welcome.

We did exactly that last weekend. Got exact same model, color...
