My 3-year old GE Washer won't stop filling water in any settings and eventually overflows. If I move the dial, it drains the water properly. What could be the problem and what part should I replace?

Musa, Open the control panel and make sure the air pressure hose (#811 on the diagram) is properly connected to the water level switch. While the washer has no water in, disconnect this hose from the water level switch and blow some air into the hose to make sure it does go through. Reconnect the hose and run the washer. If the problem is still exist, replace the water level switch. - The water level switch Part number: AP2045895

I'm having the same issue where my GE washer is overflowing... Model # is WCSR4170D5WW. Where the air pressure hose attaches to the tub it looks like there is a container that has some material in it. I didn't know if this might be causing the problem or if the switch is bad. Before I go out and buy a switch I wanted to get another opinion. Here's a picture of where the hose connects to the tub. The material in the container is pink in color. I tried to remove the container from the tub but I didn't pull too hard cause I didn't want to break anything if it isn't supposed to be removed. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45169600@N05/4792567255/Any thoughts?? Did you try to blow some air through the pressure hose?
Does the washer agitate with any water level or it does not at all?
The picture you posted is not accessible because it is private.

Gene. Yes, I tried to blow some air thru the pressure hose and it didn't work. I poured water and vinegar thru it this morning but I haven't checked it since. The washer will agitate if I put it on the drain & spin cycle. Otherwise, it won't kick on. The water just fills and fills... Sorry, the picture is now public. Earlier today I created a new post regarding the air dome. For some reason I think that is the issue versus the pressure switch! :confused:

If you look at the water level switch picture bellow  you can see three terminals. How are they marked? Gene. P.S. Unfortunately I do not have the wiring diagram for this washer.

This answer mentions the pressure switch but not how to clean a clogged air dome which is the cause of the switch never turning off the water & overflowing @ every setting.
