Hello and thank you for having this available. When we start our microwave oven it sounds normal for a second or two then makes a rushing wind sound. Any thoughts about how to fix this or if it's worth fixing? Thanks again.

not sure about the rushing air sound, you sure it's not more of a buzz groan or growl? anyhow, after 2 sec of pressing start is when the magtube comes on, and that would be your most likely suspect with noise and no heat. AP2025937 The tube is covered under manufacturers warranty for 10 years, you pay for trip and labor, about $200, or do yourself for the cost of the parts.

Thank you so much...yes it is a loud buzzing sound. Is the magnetube difficult to replace. It looks like it is replaced on the right side...and there is another much smaller part attached. If I don't have much experience repairing these things is it better to then leave it alone and have a professional do it?

I do it on a daily basis, so to me it is easy. You must remove the oven from the wall, take off the case to get inside, with some guidance you could do it, guess it depends on your ability, if you do order the part, replace the diode as well

This is so interesting....is the diode the smaller piece that is attached to the magnetube? Just curious...I will probably have a professional look at it. Thank you for the providing this information, at least I know what I am talking about when I do call on the experts!!

That is the mag thermal cutout, the diode is attached to the capacitor.
