After 20 views no response? So now I am home trying to get to the heating assemble to test it out. I easily removed half of the back panel but the upper half seems to be wielded on to the cabinet. Is there an easy way to get to it?

The back panel is shown as removable, never seen a Whirlpool with a solid, welded panel, but some Whirlpools have a spot weld on the heater can, I just pry it off at the top.
Most probable failure is the thermal fuse near the top of the can. This happens from clogged ducting in the house.
