Hi,
I have an old Maytag washer (model #LAT8415AAM) and recently, it will seldom work in the REGULAR mode - nothing happens when you turn the dial to any setting except for spin, then it will spin. Every once in awhile, it will fill when you turn it to LIGHT/NORMAL/HEAVY but after it fills, then it goes dead and will not do anything else except when you turn it to spin.
However, it seems to work fine through all cycles under the DELICATES & PERMANENT PRESS modes.
There are no odd noises, smells or anything. Could this be a timer problem and if so, is there a way to repair the timer? Money is VERY tight right now and timers for this machine are around $100.00.
Thanks in advance.:)

Aaron,

Your diagnosis sounds right. Unfortunately this part is not repairable and has to be replaced. If you need the correct part number for the timer, post the serial number of the washer.

Gene.
