My two year old microwave display is showing partial numbers on the clock. Everything is working fine. The only problem is the clock is hard to read and the timer is difficult because of the incomplete visual appearance of the numbers. Does anyone have any ideas on what it would take to repair the readout? Does the circuit board need replacing?

Can anyone tell me if this requires a readout (if this is a seperate item) or complete board replacement?

Thanks for your reply. I will try unplugging the ribbon connector a few times to see if that corrects my problem.

I have been trying to open the panel on my microwave to check the connections as you suggested. However I am unable to get it open. Any suggestions on how to remove the cover?

The exploded view is great for identifying the parts but not helpful on the disassembly of the panel to allow me access to the internal parts. I am stumped on step one. The front panel does not appear to have any screws or attachments that are holding the face plate on.
