If these guys get a tad faulty they will work once and then quit, cool down after a few hours and work some more. They are around 20 bucks and easy to replace yourself. I would try that.

Thanks guys. I've got the thing all apart. There's a little lint lining all the chutes and ducts but it's not obstructed anywhere. When I watch it run I can hear the soleniods turning on and shutting off the gas in a positive manner (clicks). Does that sound like weak coils? It seems like the burner shuts off before things really get going though.

Also, I removed the cycling thermostat (# 9 on the bulhead diagram) and it rattles as though there is a loose piece inside. Is it supposed to rattle like that?

What is the likleyhood that the Thermal Cut off sensor #17 or the T-Stat high limit, # 15, are bad?

OK, you called it Sublime! The guy at the appliance store was very confident that a set of new coils would fix my problem so I bought a set and sure enough, that was it! The dryer is now back in service.

If not then look for a blown duct fuse. GSS - PSS ice crusher disassembly.doc (86kb) downloaded 445 time(s).
On a gas dryer if either the fuse or control (red wires) are bad then you will not have power going to the gas valve assembly. The dryer will however run so ya might just think you have power to that gas assembly but you ain't. Confused yet? :D
