We need to replace the lid switch. I think we know what to do if we can just manage to get it unplugged. Are there clips we need to push or something?

Loosen or remove the screws located in the rear of the console endcaps. The console should then pull forward and pivot up on hinges to expose the lid switch connector in the center of the top of the cabinet. You will also see the spring clips that hold the cabinet to the back. By inserting a screwdriver into the front-most part of each clip, you can push downward and forward on the clips. This will release the clips from the cabinet; and you will be able to tilt the entire cabinet skirt forward. It should then be obvious, as the switch body will be visible on the underside of the skirt.

Thanks for the quick reply. That's where we are.

End caps removed, console pivoted, spring clips removed.

Lid Switch--top portion of the plug (the part above the entire cabinet) is visible.

In order to tilt the cabinet forward we need to unplug the lid switch as there is no play in the wiring--too short. Problem is we can't get it unplugged! Are there tabs that need to be released or something? It's like there is something keeping the two pieces from being disconnected.
