My microwave Hums when I turn it on. Everything works but it hums and I smell burning. Does anyone know what the problem could be. It appears to be the transformer.

If it hums but steel heats up then, most likely the problem is a shorted high voltage transformer. The microwave has to be removed from the cabinet and taken apart for complete diagnosis.
