I have a GE Advantium and it seems the microwave part is not working. When I set it on Micro express it all looks good and sounds good but it doesn't heat at all. All other functions seem to work. Microwave came with purchase of home but i do not have operating manual. Could it be the magnitron or a setting that I am missing. Thanks Dave

Hi Dave,

There are not much on-line information for this microwave. If you can find (usually it's behind the top grille) an envelope with tech sheets and the wiring diagram and post it here, we might help you better.

Gene.

Don't know if you receved last post but i found the diagram but can not send ot to you because i have no scanner, anyway you may have to use model # SCA2001 instead of SCA2001BSS03 on GE web site. I checked to interlock door switchs with meter, upper and lower ones, and they seemed fine. See no fuses though that are for the magnetron unit. How can i check this unit? need help wife needs to cook. Thanks dave

Dave,

There are a few more parts which can cause such problem and we really need the wiring diagram and/or schematic. You can Kinkos copy center to scan this diagram and then upload it here.

Gene.

Hi Gene,
I'm watching this post closely since I am having the exact same problem. I have noticed on my oven a cover that closes over the light bulb during the microwave process is rotating closed then returning to the open position after a few "bounces" in the closed position. This doesn't seem right, but I don't know. Does this door interlock the microwave process?
Thanks, Kelly

Kelly,

Did you determine why the damper door that swings to cover the light bulb while microwaving opens up after a couple bounces? I have the same problem on our 9 year old SCA2001BSS03.

Jack

Update 3/29/09. The magnetron was at fault on our SCA2001BSS03.

BTW...the bouncing damper door when the oven initiates the microwave sequence is proper, i.e., "They all do that."

I also have a GE Advantioum Model SCA2000. Every thing works ok but there is no microwave action. I read the forum but no repair suggestion jet. Can someone update this forum with a solution. Thank you.

The solution on my unit was the door interlock switch - check the center switch. It has a noticable larger white wire and switch appears scorched at the connection. The replacement switch has a larger current rating. Hope this helps.

Thank you kelly for your response, by any chance do you have a appliance part number. I look under model No. SCA2000BBB03 but no part listed.
Thank you.

I looked on my history and found AP2622452 (GE no.WB24X10047). I think it's about $12.
