My dryer has (2) recognizable problems, that I don't know where to start in diagnosing which part(s) need replacement:

Problem 1: Viewing from the front panel plug, when I start the dryer, I can see the glow plug begin to light. Sometimes the burner will light, most of the time it will not. Sometimes, when lit, it stays lit for anywhere from a few seconds to the duration of the dry time. Needless to say, something isn't working properly, as most of the time, after the glow plug lights up, the dryer just continues to tumble air dry, without any heat. I don't know if it's the coils (both or 1), spring, the entire gas valve, radiant sensor, or something else?

Problem 2: Just prior to the dryer having problem #1, the dryer, when set on the automatic "very dry" (high heat) - not timed - the dryer would continue to run for hours - one time it ran over-night and in the morning the clothes were extremely hot, as the dryer ran 8+ hours. Is there some other sensor that could've went bad that measures moisture of the clothes being dried, to use this sensor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Adam (jamesb1034@aol.com)

Adam, did you ever get your problem resolved? I noticed the same problem with the dryer running for hours on mine too. Shortly after that problem began, it quit heating. I thought the 'no heat' problem might be the heating element (I've had that problem before on another dryer... simple fix). But now, I'm looking up my model # and it seems like this is supposed to be a gas dryer!! What the heck? Perhaps this dryer was converted by the previous owner. Needless to say, I'm probably going to have a difficult time coming up with a definite answer. In any case, I would like to know what your findings were. Thanks.

Lonnie.
