Pls let me know how I can replace a faulty lid switch.

Sympthom: even when the wash door is down, the washer will not
move to the next phase of the cycle. I opened the door--top loading-
an stuck a wooden stick that pushed the door switch all the way down.
This caused the washer to perform through all the phases of the cycle.

How do I replace the switch? Does anyone have the manual? Or diagrams
to open the top of the washer and disconnect the switch?
Where can I buy the switch--the specific part number for the washer?

Please advise, thank you

I cant remember what the lid is made of on this
unit, but if its a metal lid here's something to
check before replacing anything on the washer.

Carefully look and feel across the top, does it have a slight downward
bow in the center. If it seems like it does then lift the lid and push
on the bottom side to pop it back into place. This is actually a
Whirlpool washer and normally the lid has a very slight
upward bow in the center. It it gets pushed in it can keep
the lid actuator from pushing the switch in far enough to turn it on.
Check this and see if it helps.
