We have a very small recess so I want to install a side exhaust kit on a Whirlpool stackable washer and dryer. The instructions say to just drill 4 1/4" holes at the dimples, at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. I did so, and the instructions say you may need to knock it out with a hammer. I've nailed it hard, and it still won't budge. Any help getting the knockout panel out? Is there a special trick?

That's odd. No special trick, really. Those 4 weld spots are all that's holding the panel to the cabinet.
