This microwave oven has, over the past several months, gradually lost power and taken longer and longer to attain a given heat level. I believe it to be the Magnetron failing and needing to be replaced. What is your opinion?
Also, I have pulled the microwave out and gone into it, but can't figure out how to get the present magnetron out.
Would appreciate any advice you may have.

Remove the microwaves outer case. The magnetron secured with the four screws. The thermal protector (#28 on the diagram) has to be removed from the old magnetron and installed on the new one, exactly at the same location.
