We have a stacked washer/dryer, the washer will fill up with water but wont aggitate and after a while smells like something is burning. Wont drain either. If its a bad belt, is this easy to repair? otherwise what else might i look for?

thanks.

you have an electric pump that has nothing to do with the belt, if your belt or motor was bad, it would still pump out the water... does it do anything after it fills? hum, sounds like the motor is running etc? make sure your lid switch is working and if so, i might start looking at the timer... but i don't have enough info. does it spin?

I opened up the front pannel and could hear the water pump was struggling...after taking off the hose found out a small clothing piece was caught in the pump. Removed and now its back to normal. Thanks for the info anyway.
