hi everyone - I have a question about the microwave I have. It was made in 94, but stored for 10 years or so. I have been using it for the past 2 years, and it was ok until recently. When I try to heat/cook anything in this microwave, it works ok for about 30 seconds, then all hell breaks loose. It starts to make a really gross/loud buzzing sound, and I don't know where this light is coming from, but it looks like someone is welding inside the microwave. I looked inside and can see that there is a plastic plate covering presumably the magnetron, and this plastic plate is charred black and partially melted. Is this unit fixable ? How would I determine if its ok, and get it working again ? Or is it time for a new one ?
thanks, terry
