Attempting to install a new bake element. The screws won't secure (as in fully tighten) the element. Is there something, like a nut, that is supose to back the screws? Or perhaps I just need new screws? If so is there something specific I should ask for at the hardware store? Thanks.

Are you using the screws that held the old element? There is no nut. If the screws you are using won't tighten, go one size up. Take one of the old screws to your hardware store and tell them you need the same in the next size.
