Am going to order a spanner wrench so that I can remove the drum. My question is do I have to replace the drum seal or can it be reused. Thanks in advance for the help, Bryan

After you get the machine filled manually fill it to the top and follow directions on the product. You may need to do this several times. If you want to take it apart, just take out the tub and leave the outer drum in place.

Can I run the washer thru a regular cycle as the directions say and not spill water all over the floor. Next I just ordered the spanner wrench to take the tub out. Is the tub hard to get out. If so are there any tricks that I should know so that it comes out easily. Thanks again, Bryan

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 3/29/2009(UTC) Posts: 11,699		If you fill it to the top, and after it soak you can turn the timer to the drain part of the cycle (you will need to by pass the lid switch) and drain it out. There will be some spill over, so just be prepared. If you want to take out the basket, it will come out once you remove the big nut with the spanner. The service manual says to take a straight head screwdriver to the drive block and spread it. Got any information on handling that. Thanks again, Bryan

If you do have to expand it you may want to replace it since it is inexpensive. Anyway, I am sure you will find this to be a pretty easy task (the nut may be a little hard to get off) and will do fine.

Should there be any type of lubricant on the shaft between the drive block and outer tube seal. There is a lot of slimy stuff with hair in it or is this just trash built up over the years. Got all the mold cleaned and than noticed that the outside of the drum is rusted, luckily the local parts house has one. Thanks again, Bryan

Knew a guy that worked at parts house (did not know he worked there). He gave me drum at wholesale $108 instead of $136. That made it even better. Thanks again and happy holiday to you also, Bryan
