I'm trying to replace the motor coupler on my Kenmore Series 70 washing machine (sorry, the model # is nowhere to be found). I received the new coupler from appliancepartspros.com today. The problem is that the plastic/metal parts only slide halfway onto the drive shafts (motor and transmission). The original part slides all the way onto the shafts.

Coupler Part #: AP3963893
Manufacturer's #: 285753 made by WHIRLPOOL

From APP.com site:
"Motor coupling (for Direct Drive Washers) - New design! Re-enforced with metal sleeves. The coupler is located between motor and transmission. Replaces all previous versions. Fits ALL Whirlpool, Kenmore, Roper and KitchenAid direct drive washers (no belt)."

Here's the page I'm looking at: Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Motor coupling (for Direct Drive Washers), part number: AP3963893

Help! I need to get this machine back in order ASAP. Thanks.

I usualy use a 1/2 inch deep socket 3/8 drive and a hammer and gently tap it on till the shaft is flush with the coupler

Worked like a charm. Just finished a wash, so I'm back in business. Thanks, Gabe!
