I put a new transmission in this machine however in the process I knocked the spring tensioner out of the notch where it goes hoping for help because where I put it, it is trying to burn the belt off when trying to spin need a belt route or tensioner spring placement.

There should be seveal notches in which you can place the spring to adjust the tension, but you may need to go ahead and replace it.

Here is a service manual which may help.
