Yesterday my wife found a small amount of oil coming from under the agitator in the tub basin. Today she found it again and showed it to me. It was a very thin line of oil running from the center (under the agitator) out to the side wall of the tub. The oil was thin and pretty clean. The washer is less than four years old and in very good shape. This is the first time we've had a problem with it. At this time the warranty probably only covers parts. I'm thinking that it's the seal.
Any suggestions? I have a 9-month old baby and we need to do laundry daily. So any quick advice would be greatly appreciated.

In such situation the hub and seal assembly has to be replaced.
This is a pretty serious job and you have to buy some special tools to handle it in the right way.
In order to supply you with the right part number I need the serial number of the washer.
Gene.

The part number for the hub and seal assembly is AP3875413 It comes with the installation instructions and the list of the special tool needed. Gene.

Gene: He will need to download the service manual for this Atlantis washer. Go to www.appliancejunk.com/forums and click on manuals, then washers, then download it. Also, they use electrical outlet metal boxes to stretch the springs and longer screws in the brake housing to facilitate removing tension on the brake spring. Then, the only special tool needed is the spanner wrench. Will check later for some article on how to do this job, service manuals usually fail to mention all the little details necessary to make the job a lot easier.
