Hi ,my dryer has a scorched look on the back panel towards the top, is this normal?

It's possible your dryer is overheating due to poor venting. Sometimes clothes will get burnt if they are constantly forced against the back wall due to overloading.

the brown spot is on the outside of machine, would that still be it, i read somewhere that the elements could be causing it
