I have no idea what model this Modern Maid oven is but it says Robert Shaw on the dial. It's a single oven with what I believe to be a bread warmer underneath. It's OLD. It's gas & lights well but takes a bit to heat up & then, I can't seem to get it up higher than around 300 or so & I just feel as though I'm not able to maintain a specific temperature. Can somebody help me? Thanks so much! ~kimberly

Robertshaw is the oven control. ModernMaid is no longer in biz. But you can get a replacement control from robertshaw , talk about a few bucks wowsa. If you remove the knob you can tweak the temp with a small screwdriver. The shaft is hollow and has a screw within.

I tightened the screws under the control & that didn't seem to do the trick. I preheated the oven to 400 and 15 minutes later, the oven registered less than 200 on a thermometer left in the oven. 30 minutes after initial preheat, the thermometer registered around 300 degrees. It seems as though the door doesn't seal well - I can feel heat seeping out around the door. Can someone direct me towards fixing this problem?
