I have a fairly new (- two year old) Sears Kenmore Elite electric convection oven. Today I went to preheat the oven to 425, and after 45 minutes realized it wasn't happening. The oven is getting "warm", but not heating up to temp. It is not giving me an error code, just not heating up to temp. Any suggestions? I'm refusing to call Sears until I'm 100% convinced I can't get this fixed on my own.

HELP???

My Kenmore electric oven is older and a different model series (911) but here's what I was told (Yes, Sears charges $129 just to show up - that's not including parts or labor.):
Need to know if the broiler and stove are working, and if there's power to the lower oven element. Get a volt meter to test this. ($8-10 at a hardware store.) Check the lower coil inside the oven. If there is power to the coil, but it doesn't work, then the coil is bad. If there's no power to the coil, then the relay from the control board is bad. Unfortunately, you can't replace the relay, you have to replace the whole control.

I have this SAME PROBLEM, and I have no power to the lower element, but I can't find a REPAIR MANUAL to be sure I buy the correct part, or how to INSTALL it when I do. That's why I'm here. I hope this helps. It's worth checking, at least.
