 My Whirlpool Duet front loading washer has been acting up. Now part way through the wash cycle, it flashes F06 and won't finish the wash. I have tried to reset it and have cleaned all hoses and even cleaned the washer out as it says in the book, it won't even finish that cycle. It says it's the drive motor tachometer is that what needs replacing?

What you have is a main microprocessor (CCU) and a motor control micro processor (motor control unit or MCU) The error results when the MCU is not telling the CCU that the motor is operating and the tub is moving. it is a difficult error to diagnose correctly

In some cases the problem is a wiring issue, so trace and inspect the wires between the CCU and the MCU. If this is not the situation, the problem is either in the MCU or CCU, and probably the MCU.

Here is the service manual which will show you how to do some testing on it, but ultimately the only way to be certain is to replace it and see if that fixes the problem.

Good Luck.
