The touch screen window on the front of the door of the Whirlpool microwave GH7208XRS-1 has stopped showing any text. It is lighted in green, but no text appears. Is there a simple fix for this that I could do with the right parts, or must I call a service technician?

Unplug the microwave for a few minutes and plug it back. Sometime it helps to eliminate a problem.

Gene, I tried unplugging the microwave twice - once for a few minutes, and once for 45 minutes. There was no change. The text inthe touch screen did not reappear. Any other suggestions? What about replacing the touch screen module? Is that difficult for an amateur to do, or do I need a service technician?

Steve,

Looks like you are right and the LSD module is the culprit. If you are somehow handy then you probably can do it yourself. Unfortunately I could not find any Service manuals for this microwave.
