The icemaker has cubes in it but will not dispense them or if it does dispense it is sporadic. I took the ice maker out and checked the motor and and heater and they seem to check correctly. After placing the ice maker back in the fridge, the icemaker made 3 or 4 trays of ice and has now stopped. Any suggestions or should i just pay $55 for a new one?

The model number you posted is incorrect. Verify and repost.

Where did you find a new Whirlpool ice maker for $55? I'll buy it too.

That was the part number to the ice maker. The actual number of the fridge is GD5NHAXMT00.

If the ice maker fills up with water, makes ice cubes but does not release them then the ice maker is bad and has to be replaced.

- The ice maker Part number: AP3182733

I DID CROSS THE WIRES FOR THE ICE DISPENSER AND WATER DISPENSER AND WATER DID FILL THE ICE TRAY, BUT WILL NOT EMPTY THE ICE MAKER.

It can be a bad heater, a bad motor, a bad thermostat or a bad ejector or any of them in any combination.

Most likely the ice maker is bad. If you need the correct part then post the complete model number of the refrigerator.
