I have a Kenmore 80's model top loading washer that makes a loud bang at the end of the spin cycle. There is also far too much movement of the tub 3-4 " in any direction. Any suggestions of what to start looking for? Thanks

Seems like you have sticking brake shoes and a busted back tub support spring.
Pull apart and check. Pull pump and motor and turn tranny coupler clockwise till the basket starts to turn, if hard to turn coupler with two fingers= dragging brake shoes.
If you need to change brake shoes, go to my general talk section for info.
