My Kitchen Aid side by side stopped making ice but cold water continues to flow from the door.
Following the forums here, I have run through the common checks: Switch is "on," and the water inlet tube is not frozen or blocked.
I have found the pump at the back of the unit and learned which one pumped water to the water dispenser and which pumped water to the ice maker. If I switch the plugs (putting the water dispenser plug on the ice maker pump,) I can get the pump to work.
Is my logic correct? Do I simply need to replace the pump?

If the temperature is under 15 degrees in freezer and the water solenoid puts water in the icemaker, you probably have a bad icemaker AP3182733

Thanks Rich...to be clear, right now there is no water going to the ice maker. When I switched the plugs, I was able to get the solenoid to pump water to the ice maker.
Does this still sound like a bad icemaker?

I am 90% sure you have a bad icemaker. If you have a voltmeter, per the icemaker data sheet tucked under the front kick panel, you should remove the icemaker cover and measure 115 between pins L and H. Your data sheet should confirm these pins as the power pins. Voltage there would confirm a bad icemaker.
