Not heating, has normal sound plus louder deeper humm. any help on what might be problem would be welcomed would it be worth trying to repair or would new one be better thank you

Sounds like it could be a failed power transformer. Difficult to diagnose by a written description. Very dangerous high voltage makes it risky for untrained individuals to work on. If you understand the risks, and are willing to follow safety rules, we can possibly talk you through the process of diagnosis.
