Why do you think the timer is not working?

I believe the timer is not working because dial does not move and dryer does not turn off...

The first thing I would check is continuity between the timer terminals "B" and "C", and "B" and "A" when the timer is "on". Remove the power from the dryer. Remove the wire from the timer terminal "B" and check continuity. Both readings suppose to be about zero. If any one is open - replace the timer. - The part number for the timer is AP2106034 - Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire dryer Model FDG8977EW0Happy New year! Gene.
