My dryer runs and it heats up but it doen't dry my clothes. I have to turn it on about 4 or 5 times just to get it to dry. I'm not sure if its the Element kit I need to replace. Could someone help me I can't afford for a repair man to come out but I'm pretty good at doing my own handy repairs. Thanks for anyone who can help

Here are the parts includes a wiring diagram Replacement parts for MAYTAG PYET344AYW Dryer - Ele | AppliancePartsPros.comI have to turn it I'm not sure if its the Element kit I need to replace. Since it heats I would say the element itself is probably OK. The most common cause of this is a vent system problem, see below. If the air flow seems low it could also be that the blower wheel has stripped and is slipping on the motor shaft or it is clogged up with lint. Undo the dryer from the exhaust Run a load If the load dries correctly then you have a vent problem. Clean/check the vent system. Make sure the outside louvers open fully. If you do not want lint in the house. Take a pair of pantyhose, put one leg into the other and attach this to the dryer exhaust. Leave enough room behind the dryer so it can blow out like a windsock. Run a load. Both the above will allow you to check the air flow and temp. Also the above is NOT recommended for a gas dryer due to possible carbon monoxide problems. |
