I have an old Maytag A 510 Washing Machine. The cycle mode selector is a rotating knob that rotates around Normal, Permanent Press and Delicate in a clockwise manner. What is happenning is once one cycle completes, i.e. goes through Wash, Rinse, Spin...some cycles do not have spin, it does not turn off, but continues to the next cycle. In other words it goes through complete Normal Cycle, then goes through PP then delcate and then back to Normal. Now I am starting to smell a burning smell.

I do not know if I just need to reset it somehow or if the control board or something else is bad. This is an older washing machines so no lights etc...I think it was designed in the early 1990s.

Thanks!
