I have a whirlpool cabrio platinum washer. (Not sure how old) The bolt on the bottom of the rotator keeps coming loose and causing an f51 error. I tip the washer back tighten the bolt and it will run a few (small loads) loads before I have to tighten it again. Larger loads seem to cause this more frequently. My question is: do you know what is causing the bolt to come loose and Can I put lock tight on that bolt to make it stay in place or will that cause permenant damage to the rotator or cause it to not work properly.

Do you mean the allen key bolt that holds the rotor onto the shaft? Looks like this? Whirlpool 280146 Motor Rotor - AppliancePartsPros.comYou can try loctite on that allen bolt, but I've always just tightened them down and not needed it. It repeatedly coming loose isn't good. Perhaps the inner splines on the rotor are damaged and it is wobbling, that's my guess. Pull the whole rotor down and examine the splines that engage the drive shaft, odds are they are worn out.
