My wife noticed that the plastic tub is "shredded" from contact with the inner basket. The damage is on the entire perimeter the the tub. I know we are looking at tub replacement but I'm wondering if the rear bearing may also be damaged. We have about 1" play (up, down, left, right) between the basket and tub at the front but NO movement at the rear (main pulley in relation to the rear tub).

It runs thru the cycles fine with the occasional hesitation before the spin cycle to balance out the load. I'm concerned about continued operation causing plastic debris to become jammed in the drain pump. Is this a valid concerned.

I am mechanical able and willing to attack this but want to be sure I only do it once.
any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Ken

You will need to tear it down to see the problem, could be several things but it should be obvious when you are able to see it.

Here is the service manual which will showy you how to take it apart.
