Greetings,
I am trying to troubleshoot my washing machine to fix it right the first time. I started noticing wetness around the bottom of the washing machine, not much, but enough for the plywood flooring that the washing machine sits on has developed a water stain. I took the front panel off and noticed that there wasn't any wetness in the bottom of the machine, so I thought I'd take a wait and see approach.

Then my daughter said that she noticed water flowing down the side of the machine, (the side that the water hoses are on), and searched online for clues. Found a video on fixing an overflowing machine and checked both the tube and the pressure switch, both of which were fine (no crud in the tube and blowing in the tube created a circuit (tested with my multi meter) and blew out the other end, seemed as though all systems were ago. Dried everything off, put it all back together and was able to run 5 loads of varying sizes and varying temperatures with no wetness on the floor. I just ran another load and noticed a new wet stain. I now suspect the inlet fill spout and am curious if anyone's seen this being the culprit of water flowing out the top of the machine. When observing the fill spout, it does appear that water is backing up and not completely going into the tub.

Does anyone have experience with this problem? What else should I check?

Thanks in advance for your time.

The easiest way to diagnose this problem is to operate the machine with the front panel off. With a good flashlight you should be able to see where the leak is coming from.

That's the way we do it.
